==Clients== There are various clients that can be used to play Crossfire. The screenshot displays crossfire-client-gtk2.

==Development history== Some of the earliest releases can be dated back to June 20 1993 when it started as a Gauntlet clone. However, evidence of development started as early as 1992. In 1994, Mark Wedel started contributing to the project, who eventually become the current maintainer of the Crossfire project. Historically Crossfire has used the CVS tool for version control. However, the project decided to migrated to Subversion, the successor to CVS, on September 16, 2006 for its features.
